Fish Creek Harbor, Door County

Day 1

1 PM: Meet at Cave Point County Park: No wonder this is one of Door County’s most photographed spots — and one of your favorites! This unforgettable trail borders limestone ledges that tower 50 feet above the water and overlooks sea caves and blowholes sculpted by the crashing surf. We’re allowing time for you to explore … and to sit on the cliffs and beach to enjoy the song of the waves. (Eat lunch before you arrive at 1 pm and bring a trail snack. This park does not require a park entrance fee.)

After 3 pm: Check in to the High Point Inn: We love the accommodations at this inn between the harbor villages of Ephraim and Sister Bay…private bedrooms for each person within the suite; spacious living rooms, kitchens, and dining areas; private patios/balconies…and more. www.highpointinn.com (We will reserve your room; you can then put the room under your credit card when you arrive. See room choices )

6 pm: Dinner: We’ll enjoy tapas at Parador, Door County’s new and most highly rated restaurant.

Free time: Return to the hotel for an indoor swim and relaxation, or catch the sunset at Peninsula State Park.

Day 2

8:15 AM Swedish breakfast: Enjoy a Swedish breakfast and Door County tradition at popular Al Johnson’s - or opt to eat in your room.

10:15 am: Newport State Park: You’ll love this park! Its 2,400 acres boast 11 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, evergreen and hardwood forests, upland meadows, and wetlands. This is a new gem for those who have enjoyed previous Door County getaways with us. (We’ll eat our trail lunch at the park. Park entrance requires a $10/car daily sticker.)

12:45 pm: Gill’s Rock: After leaving Newport, we’ll head up the road a short way to the Peninsula’s northernmost point - the quaint fishing village of Gill’s Rock. Enjoy some free time here; you might opt to visit the acclaimed Door County Maritime Museum.

5:30 pm: Dinner: at one of Door County’s great restaurants.

7:30 pm: Sunset bonfire: We’ll bask in the warmth of a campfire and friendship as we enjoy s’mores and the sunset over the bay at Peninsula State Park. (Your park sticker from Newport will admit you to Peninsula State Park.)

Day 3

9:30 am: Eagle Cliffs hike at Peninsula State Park: Check out of your room, and then meet at this pretty park on the Bay side of Door County. We’ll hike the gorgeous 2-mile Eagle Cliff loop featuring some of Door Peninsula’s most dramatic scenery: towering bluffs, cobblestone beaches, and sea caves. We’ll allow time to sit along the Bay’s peaceful waters, watch the water birds, and unwind. (Eat breakfast before our hike, and bring a trail snack. Park entrance requires a $10/car daily sticker.)

11:30 AM: Bike ride or free time: Join us for an optional 9-mile bike ride along the Bay of lovely Peninsula State Park on the crushed gravel trail. Bring your own bike or rent a 24-speed hybrid Trek with upright handlebars and comfy seat from Nor Door Sport & Cyclery for $6/hour.(Bring a trail lunch if you choose to join us for this great ride.)

Head for home refreshed and relaxed.

Registration/Cost

Cost is $100 per person, which covers fees for two guides throughout the getaway, trip arrangements, and the campfire picnic. (We do not "package" many of the trip costs because we’ve found that women enjoy deciding how to spend their money: what type of room, how much to spend on meals, and whether to carpool, so these costs are not "packaged." Your trip - your choices. )

Limited to 25 women. Both trips are now filled, but we encourage you to sign up for our waiting list. No payment is necessary for the wait list, but send in your registration form.
